  • Deux éventails en ivoire, France et Angleterre, second moitié du XVIIIe

le premier, peint d'une Allégorie relatant la naissance du Dauphin, le revers de Minerve offrant le bouclier à Persée, les montures finement ciselées, repercées et dorées de personnages et putti, également ornées de paillons de couleurs,  également ornées de deux miniatures en relief, l’une d’un gentilhomme offrant des fleurs à sa belle, l’autre d’une jeune femme à sa toilette, France, vers 1781, 27 cm, 10 5/8 in ; le second, la feuille peinte d'un jeune homme faisant une offrande à Minerve, le revers de deux putti, les montures ciselées, repercées et dorées de bergères et bergers dans des cartouches insérées de nacre, encadrés de volutes, rivure en strass, probablement Angleterre, vers 1750-1760, 29,5 cm, 11 5/8 in.

the first, painted with an allegory showing the introduction of the Dauphin to his father King Louis XVI , the verso with Minerva giving Perseus his shield, the mounts finely carved, pierced and gilt with figures and putti, picked out with spangles, each guard further inset with a three-layered miniature, probably French, circa 1781, 27 cm ; 10 5/8 in ; the second,  the leaf painted with an altar to Minerva, the verso with two putti, the mounts carved, pierced and gilt wih shepherd and shepherdess within mother of pearl inlaid cartouches, paste pivot, probably English, circa 1750-1760, 29.5cm ; 11 5/8 in.

Condition

missing sequins, wear to gilding on leaf, and gilding on mounts, leaf lifting at one side from guard.wear on leaf along folds, several minor tears along top rim, wear to gilding of mounts
