This miniature is in fine condition. There is a small amount of mould which is visible on the painted surface.

Catalogue Note
Né en 1777 à St Pétersbourg, Alexandre I succéda au trône impérial en 1802. Alors que son père Paul Ier avait tenté d’établir une relation de paix avec Le Premier Consul de France, Alexandre partit en guerre contre Napoléon en 1812. Il réussit finalement à le faire battre en retraite au cours de l’année 1812, année décisive qui marqua un tournant fatidique dans les campagnes napoléoniennes.
