Description
- Posthumous papers bequeathed to the... East India Company... Journals of Travels in Assam, Burma, Bootan, Affghanistan and the Neighbouring Countries. Calcutta: Bishop's College Press, 1847
- paper
FIRST EDITION, 8vo (220 x 130mm.), [iv], xxii, 530pp., map, 18 tinted lithographed plates (including portrait frontispiece, which is not called for, which is printed on india paper and mounted), pale half calf, spine gilt and blindstamped, red label, marbled boards and endpapers, a few plates spotted
Although the title-page bears no indication of a volume number, the last leaf concludes with "End of vol.I". A second volume of Posthumous papers bequeathed to the... East India Company was published in the following year with the sub-title Itinerary notes of plants collected in the Khasyah and Bootan mountains, 1837-38, in Affghanistan and neighbouring countries, 1839 to 1841. Both volumes appear to be rare and are presumably complete in themselves.
