"Gibbons set out to discover the main source of the Zambesi and define and map the regions. These two volumes provide excellent information on the terrain and rivers, as well as the peoples inhabiting the area" (Czech).
Included in this lot is a separately published "Map of North Western Rhodesia", which folds into its original cloth cover which matches the binding of Africa from South to North. It is the same map that is found in the pocket at the rear of volume 1.
