Catalogue Note

"Prepared probably by the Dobbs group. Appended, p.25-28, is Standard of trade, as it obtained in the Bay, in terms of beaver, and, p.29-44, An abstract of the weather, etc., Aug. 1746-Sept. 1747 from the log of the California, on the Moor-Ellis expedition" (Staton & Tremaine). Dobbs was appointed governor of North Carolina in 1754, and served until 1765.
