FIRST EDITION, 8vo (170 x 105mm.), 28pp., drop-head title, original stapled printed wrappers

RARE. Robert Logan Jack was the official Queensland geologist, and did much to chart that region, while searching for goldfields and mineral deposits. The present pamphlet deals with the exploration of the Cape York Peninsula in 1879-1880. Jack endured many hardships, not least being speared in the shoulder by hostile aborigines.

Evidence from the printer's file copy suggests that only sixty-five or seventy copies were printed (see Australian Book Auctions, sale, 1 May 2006).
