A personal account of travels in Argentina in 1797 through letters to a friend in Somerset. "After his [Davie's] return to Buenos Ayres, it is certain that he went to Conception, in Chili; as he was last heard of from that place, in the year 1803: but whether he lost his life in any insurrection of the natives, or was imprisoned by the government in consequence of his correspondence being detected, is unknown" (introduction).
