Catalogue Note

Morris, along with some other shipmates, was abandoned by Bulkeley and Cummins (see lot 31) in Patagonia after they had gone ashore for provisions. “Three of the abandoned men returned to England by way of Buenos Aires, Spain, and Portugal” (Hill).
