Catalogue Note
Presentation copy, inscribed "To Mrs Knight, Downton Castle With Sir Harford Jones Brydges' kindest Regards". This work is rare and has not appeared at auction for 15 years when a copy was sold as part of the Burrell collection (sale in these rooms 14-15 October 1999, lot 126), though without the fine coloured portrait found in this copy.
