Catalogue Note
Although the model derives from Giambologna's interpretation of the antique prototype, the facture of the bronze points to Southern Germany. Compare the chiselling, the treatment of the head and tail of the horse to the bronze of a unicorn in the Grunes Gewolbe Dresden attributed to Hans Reinsinger active in Augsburg in the third quarter of the 16th century.
