Condition

Overall the condition of the casket is good with wear and dirt to the surface consistent with age, including a few minor chips. The dark lacquer has rubbing on the lid and to the edge. There is some worming consistent with material, which has led to losses on the front edge of the lid and the left back corner. There is some minor warping to the lid and the left back corner consistent with material. The top right corner of the lock is lost. The later velvet lining is discoloured and slightly worn.
