Condition
Overall the condition of the pendant is good with some wear and minor dirt to the surface consistent with age. There is rubbing to the gilding at the protruding ends and the reverse, some minor tarnishing and some scratching to the background. The white enamel has some stable craquelure and pitting consistent with material. The coral has a few minor inclusions consistent with material. A section on the proper right side of the Virgin is lost and the section under the knees was reattached.

Catalogue Note
This beautiful Sicilian pendant exhibits a very similar frame to that seen in a pendant with St. Rosalia of similar dimensions in the Antonello Governale collection, Palermo (inv. no. 15303).
