Condition

Overall in good condition and presentation. The marble surface with traces of dirt consistent with handling that can easily be cleaned. Minor scratches and nicks to surface consistent with age. Extensive dust to crevices. The sculpture will definitely need to be cleaned with soap and water.

Catalogue Note

Vacossin was born in Granvilliers (Oise) and exhibited at the Salon between 1902 and 1937. A master of canine sculpture, some of his dog groups were used for Sèvres factory models.
