In his work L'Oeuvre de Victorien-Antoine Bastet, Statuaire, 1852-1905, Jules Belleudy quoted the following excerpt from la Revue du Midi (1902): "La Comète est une gageure, un caprice, un jeu de difficultés. Une femme, aux cheveux flottants, séparés en guise de longues ailes, traverse l'espace et s'y élève. Elle est prodigieuse d'élan, de détente rapide. C'est une vision reproduite avec une technique qui reste à deviner."
