The last of the Golden Cockerel Press series of books on the Bounty. It was in fact a private project of Rutter's issued by the Press for him at his own expense working with Francis Newbery at the Chiswick Press. It was a beautifully produced book, sales of which eventually more than covered Rutter's investment.

This copy is accompanied by original material comprising: Owen Rutter's own un-numbered copy of the book bound with 53pp. autograph manuscript of detailed working notes, an early draft of the introduction in 24pp. autograph manuscript and 4pp. typescript, all annotated further by hand; two suites of the wood-engraved illustrations by Averil Mackenzie-Grieve printed on japon, one suited signed and numbered 1/10, with a further copy of one of the vignettes.
