Catalogue Note

Twelfth Night was conceived in the same vein as the Press' Troilus and Criseyde  and Canterbury Tales. Production took nearly two years, for it was Ravilious' most ambitious project yet, with many modifications along the way, but it was "one of the Press's greatest aesthetic successes, and the finest flowering of Ravilious' engraved book illustrations."
