Catalogue Note

Company, which the author wrote in English before translating it into French, is one of Beckett's most original later texts, with autobiographical reminiscences (particularly from his childhood), though still revolving around the author's central themes such as solitude, loneliness, the unreliability of memory, and the uncertainties of both the self and the other.

"A voice comes to one in the dark. Imagine.

To one on his back in the dark..."
