Catalogue Note
Beckett wrote the short play Come and Go in English in 1965 while receiving treatment for what turned out to be a benign tumour in the roof of his mouth. Three women comment on their illnesses or imminent deaths. "When directed like a subtle piece of delicate chamber music and hauntingly choreographed and acted, this little play has a start visual beauty that make it as compelling as anything that Beckett wrote" (James Knowlson, Damned to Fame. The Life of Samuel Beckett).
