Mounted on the back of the frame is a typed letter about this drawing from the New York bookseller, Alwin J. Scheuer, to the original owner, Herbert L Carlebach, dated 30 January 1929. Scheuer notes "The drawing 'All Sunny and Careless'... is the Original Drawing by Shepard for this book, and has just reached me from the Exhibition at the Sporting Gallery in London. I am writing this, not for your information, because you know all about it, but for the benefit of doubting posterity."
