From 1924-1928, Gill and some of his followers (including David Jones) lived in the former monastery at Capel-Y-Ffin, on the English and Welsh borders, achieving a good deal of local notoreity.  It was at Capel-Y-Ffin that Gill designed two of his most famous typefaces - Perpetua and Gill Sans.
