Catalogue Note

"..Something new in English verse..."

A fine copy of a highly important book: the combined effect of Eliot's early poems, considerably influenced by the French Symbolists, was "unique and compelling, and their assurance staggered contemporaries privileged to read them in manuscript" (Oxford DNB).

Gallup records that there were 500 copies of the first edition. Signed copies are rare on the market.
