folio, first edition, illustrated by Louis le Brocquy (one original lithographic image of Beckett in two tones and eight lithographic drawings in black), one of 200 numbered copies signed by author and artist (of a total edition of 226), this copy apparently no.1 of 15 additional copies issued hors commerce (initialled "HC I/XV B[arney]R[osset]" on the limitation page), lithographically printed on deckle-edge Velin de Rives paper, original quarter parchment gilt, linen and cotton cloth boards with gilt illustration on upper cover, original cloth slipcase

Catalogue Note

Beckett's last work of fiction, written between 1986 and 1989 for his American publisher Barney Rosset, and issued as a handsome livre d'Artiste. The work is also dedicated to Rosst. Also included in the lot is the subscription card (illustrated by le Brocquy) and the 15-page stamped facsimile issued by Blue Moon.
