8vo, first edition in 2 volumes, extra-illustrated copy with 45 additional plates (published by E. Grattan in 1837 and Albert Jackson in 1894), half-title, etched frontispiece and pictorial title page and 41 plates by Robert Seymour, R.W. Buss and H.K. Browne, regular title page inserted at the beginning of volume 2, some of the wrappers and advertisements from the parts-issue inserted at the end of both volumes, 34 additional plates by Thomas Onwhyn (13 hand-coloured) and a further 11 unsigned plates, presentation inscription by the artist Onwhyn at the top of the errata leaf of volume 1 ("...presented to W. Lambton Esq, by his friend the Artist Thos. Onwhyn"), inscription on half-title partially removed by bleaching (apparently a further inscription to a member of the Lambton family), full blue crushed morocco gilt by Root and son, turn-ins, gilt floral dentelles, marbled endpapers, top edges gilt, preserved in slipcase, spines slightly faded

The Onwhyn plates were issued in eight (originally intended to be ten) monthly parts at one shilling each, and were designed to be bound in with the parts if the owner so desired.
