4to, later full black crushed morocco by Rivière, covers elaborated gilt to a floral design, spine lettered and decorated in gilt, gilt inner dentelles, silk endpapers, all edges gilt, preserved in matching morocco pull-off box, small repair to title and final leaf, short repair to A2, otherwise a very fine copy

First edition in a handsome later binding of Gray’s much-loved masterpiece, containing some of the most famous lines in English literature.
