Early editions of the historically defining 39 Articles of the Church of England of 1562. With the coronation of Elizabeth the Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion were established by a Convocation of the Church under the direction of Matthew Parker. Finalised in 1571 they had a lasting effect on religion in the United Kingdom and elsewhere through their incorporation into the Book of Common Prayer.
