Catalogue Note
Thomas Becon (see previous lot) was a powerful and formidable preacher. His Postils published in 1566 are lectures on the gospel of the day, based on the sermons which he had delivered to his congregation up until this time. The preface is dated 16th July 1566 "From my house at Canterbury" (probably the prebendal house), where he died the following year.
