Catalogue Note
A WEDDING GIFT FOR CLEMMIE ON HER MARRIAGE TO WINSTON CHURCHILL. T.J. Cobden-Sanderson printed this book at the Doves Press, in collaboration with Emery Walker. The unlikely friendship between Clementine Churchill and the Cobden-Sandersons, who were socialists inspired by William Morris, came about through Clemmie's first cousin, Madeline Whyte (sister of the Churchill children's beloved Nana), who trained as a bookbinder at the Doves Press.
