Catalogue Note

A COMPLETE SET OF THE MOST IMPORTANT AND INFLUENTIAL DEVĚTSIL PUBLICATION. It became the prime method of dissemination of Constructivism and Poetism, covering not just the work the Devětsil members in Czechoslovakia but also developments across western Europe. Contributors included Nezval, Seifert, Gropius, Moholy-Nagy, Soupault, Toyen and Štyrský, Picasso, Tzara, Mondrian, Lissitzky, and many others. There were also themed issues; number 9 for 1928 contained Teige and Nezval's Manifesty Poetismu, others were dedicated to Bauhaus, Soviet culture, Apollinaire and Marinetti.
