Condition

Colour: The colour in the catalogue illustration is fairly accurate, although the contrast between light and shade is stronger in the original and the overall tonality is cooler in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. Close inspection reveals some evidence of minor handling to the extreme edges. There are unobtrusive hairline drying cracks to the areas of thick white paint throughout. Very close inspection reveals a short and faint scuff towards the lower right corner. Examination under ultra-violet reveals two minor paint compressions to the upper centre of the vertical edges, which fluoresce darker when examined under ultra-violet light and appear to be original.

Catalogue Note

"ZERO is ZERO, and there is nothing except ZERO...Just as New York is New York and Tokyo is Tokyo, ZERO is ZERO. In other words a new city has appeared on the map of art. And it is a very beautiful and very lively city."
