There are some minor cracks in the work, all of which appear at connection points and where the eye bolts have been inserted into the mirror, which are inherent to the working method of the artist and the construction of the work. There is some minor soiling and discoloration to the tops of the shelves and all of the placed elements, which is inherent to the work.

Catalogue Note

"When I started looking at album covers, and I almost couldn’t believe it—there were so many successful images I could borrow, and it would allow me to still participate in the language of photography. I could look to antecedents of what I was doing, like Richard Prince’s cowboys and Sherrie Levine’s remakes of Walker Evans and John Baldessari’s work. As I became more exposed to conceptual practice, I realized I don’t necessarily need to be the creator of an image to be the employer of an image." Rashid Johnson, 2013
