Condition

This work is in good and sound condition overall. There is evidence of wear to the wood, resulting in some minor paint losses and nicks, particularly to the edges and corners. The male figure's shoe is quite worn, exhibiting some losses to the fabric and cracks to the sole. The female shoe also exhibits wear and has some dust accretions. Part of a finger on the right of the sculpture appears to have chipped off, but the loss appears stable and does not appear to be new.

"In the beginning I drew on a piece of wood because I was going to carve it. And then I noticed that I didn't have to carve it, because it looked as if it was carved already." - Marisol
