Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although it fails to fully convey the rich texture and golden highlights to the diagonal wooden element apparent in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. All of the elements are securely attached. All surface irregularities are in keeping with the artist's working process and choice of medium.

Catalogue Note

“Trees are a constant of my work. They are not a subject but much more, they are the substance itself of my work, like using clay for a sculpture (...) Its structure encloses a quite extraordinary architectural logic, and what's more this logic is memorised in the wood year after year. I feel an endless sense of wonder when I observe a tree."
