Overall in good condition and excellent quality. Repolished but ready to place.

Catalogue Note

Chamber tables were introduced in the early 19th century. The fitted hinged compartment in the writing surface was used to accommodate an inkwell and other writing paraphernalia. A similar chamber table is illustrated Susan Stuart, Gillows of Lancaster and London 1730-1840, Woodbridge, 1988, Vol. I, pl. 328.
