Condition
Measurements 266cm wide across the top, 261cm. across the bottom, 309cm high left side, 319cm high right side; slightly irregular lower edge
Colours not as strident as in the photograph, but more natural and more muted in tone.
There is some discolouration to the light shades, for example the creams, which is commensurate with age. There are repairs and patches in some areas. There is some tinting in areas, for example to the faces. There is a rectangular rewoven section in the lower border. There are vertical joins in the centre of both horizontal borders and two horizontal joins in the left border. Some minor splits in the borders. All the green coloured outer selvedges are later. Original blue border on three sides is original, the lower sage green border is later.
Tapestry is lined. Recommend some attention, as needs letting out in areas to avoid pulling. Recommend Velcro attached across the top for hanging in the future.
Decorative tapestry in generally stable condition, with some charming details.
