- bronze
depicting the larger ferocious beast bearing down on the smaller lion, all supported on a shaped oval stand supported on five legs joined by a stretcher
Condition
The group is in overall good condition with the exception of minor cracks, general surface dents and casting flaws. One toe of the hindleg of the larger lion is missing. There are losses tot he beard of the larger lion, and other general minor wear to the extremities. The right ear of the smaller lion has been broken and restuck. The group may have been buried, as evident in the encrustations and signs of erosion to one side of the larger lion and the base.
