Description

seated on a rectangular plinth, wearing a long robe and holding a tablet in both hands, his face with gentle smile, framed by a long beard and tall cap, his robe brightly glazed in yellow, green and aubergine with crane medallions on a cloud ground

Condition

The top of the headdress and the beard have been restored, with traces of overpainting to the black enamels and also some areas covering the face. There are small chips/losses to the shoes of the figure. Glaze firing imperfections (such as iron spots, burst glaze bubbles, grits etc.) as characteristic of the period.
