the deep U-shaped body rising to a scalloped rim, brightly decorated around the exterior with lotus lappets enclosing sea creatures amidst water reeds, the interior similarly decorated with a medallion
Condition
The monteith is in good condition except a rim crack visible both from the interior and exterior (approx. 5.5cm), a rim chip (0.7x0.3cm), and small chips to almost every corner of the barbed rim. There are some shallow chips along the footring. There is general enamel wear and rubbing to the gilding. General glaze firing imperfections.
