Description

  • porcelain
naturalistically formed as a leafy stem of bamboo growing from rockwork, to one side perches a small bird, the bamboo covered overall with a bright turquoise glaze, the bird and rocks glazed white and brown

Condition

The bird has been broken and restuck, with traces of glue around the feet and the tail. There is a small chip to the tip of the young bamboo shoot (about 0.5cm). Minor glaze firing imperfections include short firing cracks and burst glaze bubbles. Surface wear particularly along the extremities.
