- 53cm. high, 94.5cm. wide, 43cm. deep; 1ft. 9in., 3ft. 1¼in., 1ft. 4¾in.
with peirced hasps, escutcheon and knopped carrying handles to each side, the hinged fall opening to reveal a fitted interior of nine drawers carved with foliate motifs banded by borders of foliate incised cedar, the central drawer with a concealed compartment to the left side
Condition
The surface is scratched and worn with some discolouration. There is an old gouge to the fall. There is an area of filled timber above the lock site. Traces of worm. The back in a distressed state and will require attention. The metal work generally good but with wear and some losses to details, originally covered in fabric and there traces of this former covering below the metal plates. The interior with discolouration, notably to the carved detail. Some elements mis-shapen/warped but very decorative and good value.
