  • Signed by Léon Gruel. Binder (1841-1923), son of Pierre-Paul Gruel (d1849), craftsman during the Romantic period. Famous for retrospecitve style bindings
  • Leather, gilt
  • 57 cm. by 39cm.; 1ft. 10½in., 1ft. 3¼in.
each side with conjoined armorials surmounted by a crown within finely worked borders

Condition

Decorative, with scuffs, old marks and scratches commensurate with age and use.
