Condition
This attractive Régence style carved giltwood console table is in generally good condition considering its age. The piece has a later gesso-surface that has been later gilded. However there are chips to the the later gilded surface throughout revealing a white gesso undercoating, in addition to worm and occaional cracking, particularly evident in the right wing of the front left sea beast, which is a little loose. The central dove-tailed strutt is a later replacement and their is evidence of discolouration upon the interior facing wood.
