Description

  • Rosewood, ivory
the ivory inlaid and decorated panelled back with a shaped cresting flanked by two truned ivory knobs, the arms on panels and turned supports, the seat of  woven bamboo, on carved legs with a shaped cross splat and an H stretcher 

Condition

This is an impressive piece with great impact. There are losses and cracks to the ivory decoration throughout. It appears that panels beneath the seat are missing and one is loose. There is evidence of restoration to the underside of the seat. One rear leg shows considerable wear. There are scuffs, scrapes and chips throughout. This item shows some wear due to age.
