Description

  • mohogany and ivory
  • 36cm. high, 24cm. wide, 25cm. deep; 1ft. 2in., 9½in., 9¾in.
of typical form, with an ivory and ebony inlaid motif and a pierced silvered metal escutcheon and hasp, later fitted for stationary with removable cedar compartments

Condition

This knife box has replaced hinges and minor cracks to veneers on lid. There is a joint crack to left hand side and minor repairs. The lid silk strap holders are broken and the fitted cedar interior for stationary is later. The escutcheon and lid handle seem original but need polishing. Side handles missing.
