This work is made up of two panels, joined together. The combined wood surface us slightly bowed but stable, with no sign of splits. Its is bevelled on all four sides. There are a few specks of old retouching, very scattered, in teh sky to the left of the castle, on the woman walking away up the stairs, and on the bank of the ford. Lovely small details include the man in the distance sitting on a boulder with his sheep grazing around him, another in the foreground relaxing with his fishing rod. Details like the reeds by the water are very clear and well - preserved. This lot is offered in a gilt frame, with decorative mouldings. It has suffered a few knocks but is otherwise in good condition.
