Discoloured retouchings in the sky, particularly in the right hand part, the largest area measuring 7 by 3 cm. Frame-rubbing along all edges, all have been overpainted, but are also slightly discoloured (this is hidden beneath the frame however). Inspection under UV light reveals two campaigns of restoration: the older consists of point- by - point infilling of craquelure in the sky, the more recent campaign consists of larger areas of repair in the sky. There is further infilling of craquelure in the buildings on the left hand side and in the water. This lot is offered in a gilt frame with mouldings on the inner band. The gold paint has begun to fade but the frame is in good condition overall.
