Condition

This signed and dated work has an old relining. The canvas is stable and well- cared for. the paint surface not showing any signs of flaking. There are some lovely fresh details to be enjoyed in the thickly-applied paint, like the foamy waves breaking on the rocks, and the scales of the caught fish. Inspection under UV light reveals some repainting upper centre, measuring about 5 by 2cm. There are small dot retouchings throughout, one repair measuring 2cm in the middle left. Some infilling of craquelure. The figures are untouched. This lot is offerd in a gilt frame, with some minor knocks, but in fine structural condition.
