Condition
This picture has an old relining. The paint surface is protected by a thick varnish and there are no apparent signs of flaking. Repaired stretcher marks that are visible in raking light only. There are discoloured retouchings on the fleshtones of necks and faces. Inspection under UV light shows recent retouchings to the man's face, hands, and to the woman on the right's forehead. There are also repairs along the edges, these are for the mostly hidden beneath the frame.
The lot is offered in a wooden frame painted gold, with decorative mouldings. The paint is flaking in places and it is in need of minor repairs.
