Description

attributed to Thomas Chippendale, with an oval back, and a serpentine front-rail on fluted legs

Condition

This is an elegant chair. It has been re-gilt and there is wear to that later surface which reveals the gesso foundation, particularly to the toprail. The upholstery is tired, dirty and worn with some splits. It is generally sturdy and the seat rail is re-blocked.
