Description
- jade and wood stand
naturalistically carved in the form of a curled lotus leaf borne on bundled stems issuing flowers and pod up the sides, a chilong clambering and peering at the rim; together with a celadon jade ‘immortal’ group, 19th century, wood stands
Condition
Brushwasher: The tip of one leaf beside the lotus pod near the rim is chipped and lightly polished. There are minor chips to the extremities of the carving, such as the edges of the lotus leaf on the base, and the petal tips of the lotus bloom.
Immortal group: There is a possible 1cm area of loss to the tree twig above the head of the immortal, and another 0.2cm loss to the perforation holes of the upper front face of the pierced rock. There are other minor chips to the extremities of the carving, including the edges of the base. The stone is a of slightly darker celadon tone compared to the catalogue illustration.
