Condition

This painting was originally painted on two pieces of paper, which have subsequently been mounted onto an acid free piece of card. The original join runs vertically through the center. There is a vertical fold on the left side immediately to the right of the three figures and a long vertical crack in the sky in the center left. There is another slightly visible crack in the center of the sky on the right side as well. The painting has been unevenly cleaned. The faint rainbow in the mountain seems to have received some restoration, both in the mountain and in the sky immediately to the end of the rainbow. It is unclear whether the rainbow is damaged or whether the slightly greener color in the mountain is original. Although the structural support for the work is good, the restoration is mismatched and uneven. This gives a misleadingly poor impression of the condition; however, in reality the condition actually is good, the painting simply needs to be cleaned and retouched more accurately.
